WANT: Blue hair

I’ve had balayage, dip-dye red and chocolate… Now I’m onto blue. I impulsively decided I wanted a blue ‘do in Barcelona and had a disasterous few appointments at several Spanish salons. It was all traumatic and dramatic and I was left with a black dye job to get rid of what can only be described as peacock streaks.

This was one of the many inspiration pics I took in to the salons… of which the end result looked nothing like. I wanted a dark blue rinse, so subtle that you could only really tell in the sun. A sort of dark variation of this. Once my hair has recovered, I might try again. Might.

I’ve been crushing on this bag since the day I arrived in Paris and discovered Sandro. The high-street champion of French chic, I love their statement prints paired back with simple, quality basics.

I liked the original all-leather version but had crossed it off my wish list as too expensive. However, when I saw the updated one with soft suede panels, I decided to get it no matter what. It was also cheaper than I had originally thought (and I had run out of excuses not to buy it) so I decided to give myself an early Christmas present. Merry October!

I hopped around to all the big Paris Fashion Week shows - sadly, not as a guest, but rather as one of those (I want to say ‘pathetic’ but that’s a bit extreme) bloggers who hang around out the front to spot celebrities and editors and hopefully get snapped up by street style blogs.

My dream would have been to run into Caroline from Stockholm Street Style, but French Glamour outside Chanel was still pretty damn cool.

Wearing Asos leather jacket, Garconne tshirt, Life With Bird skirt and Topshop boots. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

I don’t normally like a plain black dress, but lately I’ve been looking for that ‘nothing’ dress - you know, the one you throw on when you’ve got nothing to wear; the one that can be dressed up or dressed down; the one that’s classic, not boring.

While I’m more of a LA girl at heart rather than New Yorker, I always thought this book was suitably appropriate for the two countries that hold my heart.

Only available in a postcard box and candle holder, I was way too happy when I found out the original book version was back in stock at Colette yesterday.

I can’t decide whether I love or loathe tattoos. If I could guarantee that I’d look more Abbey Lee than Amy Winehouse, then I’d be sitting in that chair, getting buzzed as soon as possible.

I’d always wanted a skate blade etched along the edge of my foot - and very nearly got one in LA - but the potential threat of infection from running around the Californian desert at Coachella won out over the thrill of getting inked by Kat Von D.

So the skate blade was on the backburner for the time being - until I saw this. I love the innocence of the simple scrawl; it’s almost like something you and your bestie would have done while you were bored in English class in Year 8. However, it’s not something that’s easily covered up - and, as said before, it looks like something you and your bestie would have done while you were bored in English class in Year 8.

I think I over-think things too much.

But I am still thinking about this. Maybe I’ll save it for Paris.

Ever since I lost my Ralph Lauren button-down shirt, I’d been looking to replace it with a soft sheer version. I’d seen this Zara one around on blogs for weeks, but couldn’t find it in stores.

Luckily, my beautiful friend Maddie works at Zara and was able to hide the last (and perhaps only) shirt left in Oz. Thank goodness it was my size.

The delicate collar clips are heaven and the silk glides on but miraculously stays crisp. Yes, I’m slowly turning hipster.

Who doesn’t? (Although I must admit I resisted the Gleek revolution for a whole two seasons because I couldn’t stand Rachel Berry. A few friends of mine have these shades and I’m becoming increasingly more obsessed with them. A retro ’50s style that adds a touch of Old Hollywood glamour to even the most basic of outfits.

Ray-Bans still champion old-school cool, but these are just a touch classier and have less of a I’m-so-wasted-at-yet-another-festival feel.

I think a little part of me dies inside every time I see Blake Lively. That girl do no wrong (let’s gloss over the nude photo scandal, shall we?) and while she may not have the most groundbreaking red carpet style, she wears those off-the-runway looks better than most models.

Sure, she’s always got either her boobs or her legs out (or usually both), but hey, seriously, if you had her body, wouldn’t you?

I’ve loved every single Marchesa look she’s done, but this ethereal Chanel takes the proverbial cake. Kirsten Dunst tried it at Cannes, but my jaw literally dropped when I saw it on Blake. I think it’s the hair. The sexy beachy waves that my hair simply refuses to do; the playful loose braid and even that vintage brooch that I’d normally hate works so beautifully on Blake.

Alexa, you better step up your game, I’ve got a new style-crush.

I’m so far off owning/decorating/moving into my own place, it’s not even funny.

But that doesn’t mean a girl can’t dream.

When the time does come, I’m totally stealing Erin Fetherston’s beautiful candle centrepiece idea. It’s not my normal style AT ALL, but I kinda like the idea of feeling like a wood nymph in a Midsummer Night’s Dream while eating dinner.
